ESOL INSTRUCTOR PART-TIME

Essential Functions:

Serves as instructor of a class of English language learners with a focus on speaking, listening, reading, writing, as well as integration of technology in the classroom
Implements and customizes lesson plans for low-literacy population based on a standards-based curriculum
In consultation with Department staff, implements strategies designed to maintain high student retention
Evaluates student performance, discusses areas of improvement with students, and develops appropriate strategies to address needs
In consultation with Department staff, participates as needed in funder site visits and ensures that class instruction meets funder requirements
Attends and participates in regular staff development sessions and meeting
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

BA and at least 4 or more years of experience in a similar role

CELTA certification strongly preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Experience working with low-literacy population preferred
Knowledge of ESOL technology instruction
