🌸 Happy Mother’s Day!

At Mercy Center, we recently celebrated the incredible mothers in our community with a special “mini-retreat” focused on mindfulness, movement, and self-care. From meditation and journaling to salsa and merengue, our moms took a well-deserved break to recharge, connect, and dance the stress away!

🚴‍♀️ Marianne took on all 5 boroughs and we were there to cheer her on!

Marianne Sheridan, Mercy Center’s Manager of Special Projects and former Youth Programs Manager, completed the 40-mile TD Five Boro Bike Tour this weekend. Our staff and participants met her with big smiles and support at 138th Street in the Bronx.

The nation’s largest charitable bike ride, the Tour raises funds for youth cycling programs and promotes bike safety through free lessons, helmets, and advocacy across NYC. Congratulations, Marianne, for riding with purpose and power!

Every April, we honor the strength and vital contributions of immigrant New Yorkers during Immigrant Heritage Week, a tradition that began in 2004 to commemorate the day in 1907 when the largest number of immigrants entered the U.S. through Ellis Island.

From April 14–20, 2025, we celebrate our community — the people we stand with every day. As an organization rooted in immigrant experiences, we uplift stories of hope, courage, and belonging that continue to shape this city.
